Greetings, Kids, and HAPPY NEW YEAR!
It's the new year, and while you might have noticed that I didn't do a "year in review" type post, there's a good reason for that. I already know what I did in 2011. As a result, the future is FAR more entertaining. Turns out, 2012 is going to be an amazing year.
...and not for that Mayan thing, either.
Changes are coming to my blogging activities. In a few weeks, Initiative Or What? will cease to become an independent blog. The content will be moved, and the site eventually closed down.
I know, I know. I will wait a moment while you rend your clothing, pull your hair, and gnash your teeth.
Thadeous Cooper, over at This Is My Game, has asked that I (in partnership with Tracy "rolling20s" Barnett) take over the management of that fine site. It was quite a surprise being asked to take over his blog, and I have to admit I was hesitant. However, after some soul searching, I realized this was just the kind of thing I needed to do. As a result, I will be moving the content of this blog over to This Is My Game, and will continue writing a column there called, Initiative Or What?. The hope is that I'll be able to preserve continuity by having my readership transfer smoothly over to This Is My Game.
In addition, Dave "The Game" Chalker over at the Ennie Award winning site, Critical Hits, has asked me if I would like to move my 4e Star Frontiers articles over there. Having sensed that I just rolled a "natural 20", I couldn't say no. While we still need to work out the details of that transfer (additional editing, etc.), look for future 4e Star Frontiers articles over there. I am really excited by this opportunity and looking forward to being a part (even if it's just a small part) of the Critical Hits team.
It's been a great journey with this blog. While I've been blogging for awhile, I converted my blog to all RPG content over three years ago after a difficult time in my life. As a result, I've made some great friends, witnessed some great events, and have been made to really feel a part of the RPG community. While my readership has never been server breaking, I know I had some loyal subscribers, and I want to thank each & every one of you for reading and occasionally commenting on the bits & pieces of ideas put forth on the site. Your patronage is appreciated more than you can know.
Thanks again for everyone in the RPG community for their support and I'll see you soon over at This Is My Game and Critical Hits!
Until next time...
Game excellently with one another.
